Hey Besties!

We’re baaaaaaaaaaaa-(pause for a breath)-aaaaack!

Hopefully your boss didn’t start your first meeting of 2025 with that, but if they did - bless you (and them). After the holiday whirlwind (and way too many cookies), we’re ready to kick off 2025 with some fresh energy, hot topics and, of course, all the workplace tea. Let’s get into it!

In This Episode:

• Intro Story: Leigh kicks us off with two words you don’t want to hear (or smell) in the workplace. We’ll give you a hint - it’s about the lengths people will go to avoid drug testing (and we looked up products online while recording - you’ll hear the going rate for them!).

• Corporate Cringe Speak: It’s a phrase that you may have heard to start 2025, or when you’re having “too much” fun in the workplace (but also how you can use this cringe speak to your own advantage).

• Hot Topic: 2025 is shaping up to be a big year in the workplace. We talk through topics like AI, Return to the Office, wellness and employment law updates (especially with a new presidential administration). As always, we keep it real and bring our perspectives on each.

• Questions & Comments: Including whether we make New Year’s resolutions… and what they are.

1. AI at Work: What’s our policy on using AI, and how can we train teams and managers on how to use it to be efficient (including creative prompts)?

As for what to expect from the HR Besties this year, we’re switching to Wednesday-only episodes this year (no Friday Happy Hours), but don’t worry, Besties. We’ll add in some Happy Hour flair to our Wednesday episodes, and record special episodes when hot topics (like the SHRM trial 👀) demand our attention. When there’s Hot Goss in the workplace, we’ll always make time for it.
